Pet of the Week Dec. 21, 2021 – The Advocate-Messenger

This week is our special pet Lux, a 2-year-old mixed-bred dog who came to us when his owner was no longer able to take care of him. She hated saying goodbye to him, “Lux is the best dog ever.” We’ve only known Lux for a few days, but he’s definitely a contender for that title!

Lux is a big boy with a thick, luxurious white coat lightly sprinkled with black spots – could he have Dalmation in his DNA? A handsome man can seem majestic at first; But, a laid-back Lux for a youngster of his age and size, he calmly greets everyone he meets.

Lux is very intelligent, quick to learn, and has an understanding of basic commands. At times he can be stubborn too, so his new family will want to keep training to keep this neat pants focused and on his best behavior!

In addition to constant training, Lux will enjoy regular jogging or hiking and additional enrichment with treats or games to keep him occupied. While we don’t have information on his feelings about felines, we do know that Lux gets along with other dogs, loves children, and basically wants to be with his people as much as possible (err, claws?!).

Can we have cute luxe in a warm and cozy holiday home? Right now, his adoption fee is only $53, and Luxe is repaired, fortified, and microchipped, too! Complete an online application: https://bit.ly/2Qo4EfE and bring your dog and family between 1pm and 4pm to meet them before Wednesday of this week.

Pets are much happier and healthier in a home environment than they are in a kennel, no matter how kind and knowledgeable the shelter staff is.
